Google updates Android Auto with a brand-new look, more features

Gone are the days of subpar infotainment systems in cars on which the experience would leave much to be desired. Ever since the introduction of Google’s Android Auto and Apple’s CarPlay, any car that comes with it automatically has a world-class infotainment system that lets users have the ease of use when playing their favorite tunes or when navigating around town.

Now, Google has announced that Android Auto is getting refreshed interface that will help users get directions faster, control media more easily, and enable more functionality. The new interface will come with a split-screen mode that is standard across all screen types and sizes. This would eliminate the need to return to the home screen or scroll through a bunch of apps when driving.

Other features include the Google Assistant coming with contextual suggestions to help in suggesting replies, messages, sharing arrival times, or playing media. Users can now also quickly message and call favorite contacts with just a tap, as well as reply to messages with suggested responses on the screen.

Lastly, Google is working on the ability to cast the user’s device to the car’s screen as well as bringing more apps such as a web browser and video streaming apps such as YouTube, Tubi, and Epix to enjoy when parked.
