Select roads in Manila to be closed at noon today for a Political Rally per MMDA

According to a post earlier today on the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority’s (MMDA) Facebook page, a select number of roads in the City of Manila will be closed today, to give way to a political rally.

Here is the list of all the affected roads, as well as alternate routes motorists can take instead per the MMDA’ post:

Stretch of Figueras St. (Bustillos) from Legarda St. to Earnshaw St. up to the corner of Jhocson St.
– Stretch of San Anton from M. Arenas St., to Figueras St.
– Stretch of San Anton from Renten St., to Figueras St.
– Stretch of Manrique St., from Castanos St. to Figueras St.
– Stretch of Lardizabal St. from Jhocson St. to Figueras St.

Affected motorists are advised to take alternate routes:

  • All vehicles coming from Sta. Mesa Area traveling Legarda St. intending to utilize Figueras St. shall go straight to CM. Recto Ave. to point of destination.
  • All vehicles coming from Mendiola St. traveling Legarda St. intending to utilize Figueras St. shall go straight to Lacson Ave, to point of destination.
  • All vehicles coming from Earnshaw St. intending to utilize Figueras St. shall turn right to Cayco St. to point of destination.
  • All vehicles coming from Fajardo St. intending to utilize Figueras St. shall turn right to Earnshaw St., turn left to Cayco St. to point of destination.
  • All vehicles coming from Renten St. intending to utilize Figueras St. shall turn right to San Anton St., turn left to Dalupan St. (Gastambide) to point of destination.
  • All vehicles traveling San Anton St. intending to utilize Figueras St. shall turn left to M. Arenas St. to point of destination.

The MMDA said road closures will begin starting at 12 noon today (April 23, 2022).

While the opening and closing of the roads will depend on the current traffic situation.

This latest road closure adds up to the already previously announced closure by the MMDA this weekend, some roads on C5 and EDSA are up for reblocking, while a roadwork repair job is still ongoing at Macapagal Ave.
