Honda is bringing in their 2018 refresh of the HR-V, one of their well-known crossovers. It now comes with a new RS variant for those looking to have a sportier and stylish vehicle.
Although, the RS variant isn’t the only one with a new design. The standard models also received a facelift and some back changes. At the front, we now have a differently designed Front Bumper, Front Grilles, and a Full LED Headlights with integrated daytime running lights. Then at the back, we have a new LED Guide Type Tail Lamps. The overall design and variant isn’t the only thing new, the wheels are also getting an upgrade and are now 17-inch Sport Black Alloy.
Inside we’re also getting new toys, particularly a new 7-inch touch screen system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. The seats are also ULT (Utility, Long, Tall), offering three adjustment modes for flexible seat configurations.
Running the show for the new 2018 HR-V is Honda’s 1.8 Liter SOHC i-VTEC engine, capable of producing a maximum power of 142ps at 6,500rpm and 17.5 kg-m of torque at 4,300rpm. This engine uses a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) based on the manufacturer’s Earth Dreams technology.
Moving on, let’s check out the new RS variant. The vehicle comes with an RS design front honeycomb grille paired with new LED headlights and fog lights. The doors and its trims, on the other hand, have a dark chrome finish and the 17-inch wheels have a two-tone alloy design. The back comes equipped with smoked LED tail lamps.
Inside, we’ll be getting a full leather treatment complemented piano black accents in the steering wheel and center console. The RS variant is also getting that 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. The vehicle will also be available in Phoenix Orange Pearl, the same exclusive color of other Honda RS models.
All variants of the new HR-V will enjoy features such as Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Brake Hold, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Driver and Front Passenger SRS Airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and Hill Start Assist (HSA).
