The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) is penalizing Grab for imposing a Php2 per-minute charge to their passengers. The ride-hailing service is ordered to pay a Php10 million fine and reimburse their passengers through rebates.
Once the order is finalized, Grab is required to immediately pay the penalty and pay back riders within 20 days.
Grab will reserve comment until it has “fully studied and analyzed the matter” with its legal team — Public Affairs Head Leo Gonzales.
Back in April, the board suspended the Php2 per-minute charge when the ride-hailing operator failed to inform their riders of the policy.
