
Mazda has continued to expand global production of the CX-5 since manufacturing of the first-generation model began at the Ujina Plant No. 2 in Japan in 2011. Production was later added at Ujina Plant No. 1 and the Hofu Plant, as well as at facilities in China. The CX-5 has also been locally assembled in Malaysia and Vietnam, helping it grow into the best-selling model in Mazda’s current lineup.

The all-new CX-5 was unveiled in Europe in July 2025. Following its European debut, Mazda plans to launch the model in North America and Japan in spring 2026.
Koichiro Yamaguchi, CX-5 Program Manager, thanked customers and fans for supporting the model globally. He said the all-new CX-5 is the result of a full redesign completed over eight years. The new model further develops the SUV’s sporty design and driving performance, while adding a more spacious cabin designed to improve comfort for all passengers. It also introduces a redesigned human-machine interface and places stronger focus on daily usability.
Mazda said the new CX-5 represents the next generation of its SUV lineup, with improvements aimed at making driving more comfortable and enhancing everyday mobility.
The company added that it will continue to focus on its “Joy of Driving” philosophy and its “Radically Human” development approach, while aiming to deliver better mobility experiences that improve customers’ daily lives.
