Xiaomi took the ring less than a year ago with its race-ready version, the SU7 Ultra Prototype, which ran a time of 6:46.874.
Of course, that specific car is not road-legal and is made purely to shatter lap times on the track. This time, however, Xiaomi has returned with a production-ready version of the SU7 Ultra.
The road-legal version of the SU7 Ultra uses the same powertrain as the prototype, with 1548 hp. It can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds and has a top speed of 350 km/h. Those are some mind-blowing numbers.
While not as fast as the prototype version before it, the SU7 Ultra has taken the production EV lap record at 7:04.957. This is enough to beat out the current EV production car record from Porsche’s Taycan Turbo GT and the very limited-run Rimac Nevera.
