Land Rover Philippines has officially launched the New Defender OCTA, the most powerful, capable, and luxurious model in the Defender lineup. Building on the strengths of the Defender 110, the OCTA variant pushes performance and off-road capability to new heights.

The name “OCTA” is inspired by the octahedral structure of diamonds, symbolizing durability and strength. This theme extends to its design details, including a new encircled diamond emblem on each Signature Graphic panel, featuring a gloss black diamond within a machined and sandblasted titanium disc.

Powering the Defender OCTA is a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged mild-hybrid V8 engine, producing 626 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque with up to 800 Nm on Dynamic Launch Mode. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and high/low range gearing, it accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h (limited) when fitted with 22-inch wheels and all-season tires.

For the first time in a Defender, the OCTA features 6D Dynamics suspension, a hydraulically linked system designed to reduce pitch and body roll while enhancing off-road articulation. The suspension geometry has been significantly revised, with a 28mm increase in ride height and a 68mm wider stance. Components such as longer wishbones, active dampers, and 400mm Brembo front brakes have been added for improved performance and control.

The Defender OCTA introduces a new OCTA Mode for performance-oriented off-road driving, enabling Off-Road Launch and a recalibrated ABS for loose surfaces. This complements existing Terrain Response modes for sand, mud, snow, and rock, alongside technologies like ClearSight Ground View for enhanced visibility.
The Defender OCTA features 33-inch Goodyear Advanced All-Terrain tires, the largest ever fitted to a production Defender. This necessitates extended wheel arches and a revised front fascia for improved airflow. Underbody protection includes an aluminum front shield with a graphite finish and exposed recovery points in Phosphorous Bronze.

Customers can personalize the OCTA with multiple options, including exclusive paint colors such as Petra Copper, Faroe Green, Carpathian Grey, and Charente Grey. These colors are all paired with a gloss Narvik Black contrast roof and tailgate. A Matte Protective Film is available for added durability and a distinctive look.

The Faroe Green paint and Chopped Carbon Fibre trim elements are exclusive to the Defender OCTA Edition One (not shown in photos). This version also includes a unique interior finish, 20-inch forged alloy wheels, and comes at a premium of around PHP 2 million over the standard OCTA.

Inside, the Defender OCTA introduces all-new Performance Seats with integrated headrests and improved bolstering. Upholstery options include Burnt Sienna semi-aniline leather, Kvadrat textile trim, and lightweight Ultrafabrics PU. The Edition One comes in a Khaki and Ebony color scheme with a seamless knit finish.

A standout feature is the Body and Soul Seat audio system, developed with SUBPAC and Coventry University. This system allows occupants to physically feel the music. The system also includes six wellness programs aimed at enhancing relaxation or mental alertness during drives.

As for the price, the Defender OCTA starts at P24,590,000, with the first edition priced at P26,590,000. Of course, final pricing will ultimately depend on whether the customer makes a bespoke specification for their vehicle.
