ACMobility, the official distributor of Kia vehicles in the Philippines, has introduced the Kia Sonet, Kia’s latest SUV model. The Sonet is poised to make a significant impact in the entry-level SUV market with its modern design and innovative features.
Available in Kia showrooms nationwide, the Sonet offers four variants: the 1.5 LX MT at P758,000, the 1.5 LX AT at P868,000, the 1.5 EX AT at P978,000, and the top-tier 1.5 SX AT at P1,138,000. The Sonet is designed to provide a stylish and connected driving experience, appealing particularly to young buyers.
Equipped with a 1.5-liter Dual Port Fuel Injected gasoline engine, the Sonet delivers 113 hp and 144 Nm of torque. It comes with either a Kia Intelligent Variable Transmission or a 6-speed Manual Transmission, offering robust performance and fuel efficiency.
“The Kia Sonet is a game-changer in the small SUV category,” said Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, CEO of ACMobility. Antonio “Toti” Zara III, President of Kia Philippines, added that the Sonet is expected to become a key part of Kia’s product lineup, thanks to its appealing design, feature-rich package, and competitive pricing.
Brian Buendia, COO of Kia Philippines, highlighted that the Sonet targets millennials and Gen Z buyers seeking convenience, technology, and affordability.
The Sonet’s exterior features include the signature Kia Tiger-nose grille and 16-inch wheels. The higher variants offer additional elements like LED headlamps, an electric sunroof, and roof rails. Inside, the Sonet balances comfort and practicality with options like leather seats and ample cargo space.
Technology is a strong point for the Sonet, with the top variant featuring a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. All variants come with six speakers, Bluetooth connectivity, and multiple USB ports.
Safety is also a priority, with features such as Lane Following Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, and more in the top variant. All models include airbags, ABS, rear parking sensors, and a rear-camera display.
The Kia Sonet is available in several colors, with the top variant offering exclusive options. Kia encourages potential buyers to visit showrooms and experience the Sonet firsthand at events like the one at Ayala Malls Manila Bay from June 7 to 9, 2024.
