As ACMobility continues to push electrification forward in the PH, they have opened their newest EV charging station in the heart of bustling Katipunan, Quezon City. Right in the front parking lot of UP Town Center sits the newest 6-bay charging station for electric vehicles in the area that need juicing up, and given its strategic “placement”, charging need not be boring; “Town” is a mall, after all!
UP Town Center is home to accessible EV charging stations in the Katipunan area
As distributors of a number of different manufacturer brands including Volkswagen, Kia, and BYD, ACMobility is keeping up with the innovations and changes in the automotive industry. With these brands under their wing, it’s known that electrified vehicles are a big part of the choices and models being offered, so putting up EV charging stations only makes sense as a business and for the consumers.
The newly-opened EV Charging Station at UP Town Center features 6 bays with a 120 kW DC fast charger and 4 (four) AC chargers (22 kW and 7 kW). Whether they are privately-owned or public utility vehicles like e-jeepneys, this newest infrastructure is a testament to ACMobility’s commitment to providing accessible and sustainable transport.
As an added treat, a beautiful mural painted by Professor Toym Leon Imao and his team of students from the University of the Philippines Diliman and De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde spans the width of the EV Charging Station’s area. Made in the spirit of “charging forward”, the vibrant artwork celebrates Katipunan Avenue’s stories while showcasing the hub’s advanced, eco-friendly technology and seamless user experience.
It is well worth noting that starting December 12, 2024, all ACMobility EV Charging Hubs in NCR will transition to a fee-based service.
This notwithstanding, the presence (and construction) of more EV Charging Stations that are accessible to the greater public will help the promotion of sustainable and electrified motoring and transportation in the Philippines. It’s efforts like this from private entities that are always very much appreciated, and in line with more efforts from the government, we can all surmise that going electric may have a brighter future in the country after all.
