Aston Martin announces the Valiant, an ultra-exclusive, track-focused, road-legal special edition car of extraordinary rarity, presence, and potency. The latest project from the in-house bespoke division, Q by Aston Martin, the Valiant boasts 734 hp and 753 Nm of torque thanks to a Twin Turbo 5.2-litre V12 engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. Limited to just 38 units worldwide, all of which are already allocated, the Valiant embodies Aston Martin’s commitment to pure driver’s cars.
Originally conceived from a personal commission by Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team driver, Fernando Alonso, the Valiant was inspired by Alonso’s 23-year career in Formula 1 and his passion for extreme driving. This special edition has been meticulously designed and crafted by Q by Aston Martin, which is known for delivering carefully curated special editions and offering bespoke personalization services.
Valiant continues Aston Martin’s tradition of delivering intense driving experiences both on-road and on-track. It joins the ranks of Aston Martin’s high-performance models, including the Valkyrie hypercar, Vantage sports car, Vantage GT3 race car, and the upcoming Valhalla supercar. While the Valiant draws design inspiration from Aston Martin’s heritage, it incorporates modern performance features, advanced technology, and class-leading power to appeal to driving connoisseurs.
Fernando Alonso expressed his excitement about the Valiant, stating, “Valour was a spectacular celebration of Aston Martin’s 110th anniversary, and it inspired me to create a more extreme, race car-inspired version. Valiant is born from my passion for driving at the limit, and I have enjoyed working closely with the Q by Aston Martin team to create a masterpiece.”
Marco Mattiacci, Global Chief Brand and Commercial Officer of Aston Martin, added, “Valiant is a modern masterpiece. Inspired by a racing legend and conceived using the latest F1® technology, Valiant focuses on providing a unique, intense, and emotional driving experience. It represents Aston Martin’s commitment to building rare, extraordinary cars for true drivers.”
Designed to deliver optimal performance on both the track and the road, the Valiant features an exotic specification including Carbon Ceramic brakes, a 3D-printed rear subframe, lightweight magnesium wheels, and a motorsport-spec lithium-ion battery. The Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve (ASV) dampers provide state-of-the-art suspension technology, allowing for precise ride and handling characteristics tuning. The recalibrated driving modes—Sport, Sport+, and Track—enable drivers to explore the car’s full performance potential.
Simon Newton, Aston Martin’s Director of Vehicle Performance, highlighted the Valiant’s enhancements: “We’ve increased power delivery, perfected the chassis setup, re-sculpted the body for more downforce, and employed lightweight materials to reduce mass. The driver is at the heart of the action, with a focus on maximum satisfaction and precision.”
The Valiant’s aggressive bodywork, crafted from lightweight carbon fiber, is designed for aerodynamic efficiency and dramatic visual impact. Key features include a deep front splitter, full-width carbon fiber grille, scalloped side fenders, and carbon fiber aero discs on the 21” magnesium wheels. The rear design features a sharp Kamm tail, fixed wing, and functional rear diffuser, all contributing to improved downforce and reduced drag.
Inside, the Valiant combines race-bred functionality with luxurious design. The two-seat cockpit features extensive use of satin-finish carbon fiber, bespoke trimmed Recaro Podium seats, and a new steering wheel designed for intuitive feel. The interior also includes a built-in half-cage and 4-point race harnesses for driver safety.
Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer, described the Valiant’s design: “Valiant is an extrovert. Its dramatic, muscular form and functional details leave no doubt of its intentions. It is designed to be enjoyed on the racetrack yet remains usable on the road, celebrating Aston Martin’s V12 engine with a quartet of titanium exhaust pipes.”
The Valiant will make its public debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed (July 11-14) with dynamic demonstrations on the Hill Climb course. Fernando Alonso, Valiant’s first customer and two-time Formula One World Champion, will participate in one of the demonstration runs. First deliveries are set to commence in Q4 2024.
