If you frequently use C-5 Extension, you know that along its entire stretch, you’ll find potholes, uneven asphalt layers, and even the odd rock or two here and there. The DPWH just posted some pretty good news, though, in that the Westbound Road of the Extension in Paranaque has already been rehabilitated and repaired. Yes, happy news, right?
Rehabilitation works for C-5 Extension in Paranaque Westbound Road completed
According to the DPWH, a stretch that covers 1.9 kilometers along the Westbound Road of the C-5 Extension in Paranaque has been repaired and rehabilitated. Included in these works are the “overlay of asphalt pavement, installation of bollards, and application of reflectorized pavement markings such as pedestrian lane, intersection box, edge lines, and other necessary inclusions that serve as guides for motorists, and pedestrians”.
We can remember that this area was, to be quite frank, was in a state of disrepair, and that’s being very conservative with criticism. Now, however, we can see a new state of the roadway and the DPWH’s promise of “A smoother and safer riding surface can now be accessed by motorists, and commuters in Parañaque City” with the completion of this project isn’t too far off from being reality.
We’re always happy to report the success of infrastructure projects that deal with the repair and rehabilitation of roadways, this one included, of course. We all know that in both urban and rural areas of the country, the DPWH has its hands full of what needs to be fixed, and if anything, we are rather thankful that the C-5 Extension works are finally done.
Now comes the part when we ask for, look out for, and hope that more are repaired and made better by the DPWH. It is but expected of them, right?
