Is Chery PH launching PHEV/EV versions of the Tiggo 7 Pro and Tiggo 5 at MIAS?
With the hotly anticipated Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) barely a week away, auto brands have been teasing what they’ll be launching and showcasing during the show.
Chery Auto Philippines is keen to dive deep into the EV pool by launching not one but 2 new EVs or PHEVs.
Chery double PHEV/EV launch at MIAS?
According to the brand’s official Facebook page, the brand posted 2 separate teasers on 2 different vehicles. The first post has text saying “rEVive your passion for the environment” with a big number 7 plastered behind a silhouette of a car. The second post also has text stating ” rEVolutionize the way you drive” with a big number 5 also present behind a vehicle silhouette.
Despite both posts not revealing which of the brand’s vehicles will receive the EV or PHEV treatment, the vehicle silhouettes are unmistakably the Tiggo 7 and 5. This is welcome news considering how quiet the brand has been as of late but has always been heavy into other sustainable modes of transportation like PHEVS and EVs.
No other features or details have been revealed yet, but we can expect both vehicles to be feature packed and decent when it comes to performance. What is on our minds though is the price, with new incentives for EVs and PHEVs coming in early this year will we see more competitive pricing from the brand for the Chery Tiggo 7 and 5 EVs? we’ll have to wait and see.
