DPWH: Partial road closure of Blumentritt, Manila, April 14-May 12, expect extra bad traffic

The DPWH has come out with an announcement on the partial closure of the northbound side of Blumentritt Street in Manila. This is to make way for road concreting and re-blocking and is scheduled from April 14 to May 12, 2023. Two areas of the northbound stretch will have to undergo rehabilitation work.

As mentioned, there will be two stretches that will be rehabilitation during this time frame. The first will be from Don Manuel Agregado Street to Retiro Street. This is a 127.10-meter stretch and its construction had already started this past April 14 and is set to finish on April 27. Both lanes will be re-concreted and reblocked.

The second phase of the rehabilitation work will be done on a 122.60-meter stretch spanning Retiro Street until Calavite Street. The outer lane along this stretch will be affected and the work is scheduled from April 28 to May 12. As above, do expect the inner lane to be repaired within the said timeframe as well.

Partial road closure to give way to the said DPWH rehabilitation efforts will have to be implemented from the aforementioned construction dates. Until such time, specifically May 12, motorists are advised of traffic slowdown in the affected areas and to use possible alternate routes.
