DPWH roadworks along C-5 Northbound from April 26-28, expect extremely bad traffic

Heads up, everyone! Pasig City has announced a scheduled project by the DPWH along C-5 northbound, and it starts today, April 26-28, and will be done from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM. The affected area will be from Nissan Motors Libis until the approach of the C-5-Ortigas flyover. The said project is for road milling.

DPWH will conduct its repairs for 3 days, from 10PM-5AM

As can be seen in the infographic issued by the Pasig City PIO, 3 days have been set for the DPWH to complete the roadworks. Fortunately, the road milling starts at 10:00 PM. Unfortunately, its last day will be on Friday, a payday at that, so traffic going towards the north will inevitably get clogged.

From the Nissan showroom until just before the Libis-Ortigas flyover, there will be lane closures as the project of the DPWH commences, so bottlenecks and snail-pace traffic are to be expected. There aren’t many alternative routes in and around the area, but the public is advised to plan accordingly to avoid the inconvenience.

Libis, as C-5 is more commonly referred to, isn’t what it used to be. It’s now riddled with potholes and uneven patches. While roadworks and repairs are very welcome, they do come at a price, and that’s the inevitable closure of some lanes that will result in horrendous traffic. The saving grace is always the fact that at least something is being done about the roads’ conditions.

Happy payday Friday in advance folks! As they did say, please take alternate routes.
