It won’t be an all-new model, but the Toyota Corolla Cross is about to get a refresh. The first in the ASEAN region to get dibs on the facelifted model will be Thailand (no surprise here) and we won’t have to wait too long to see how the updated crossover will look. Come February 8, Toyota Thailand will go live for an online launch, and we’re sure this is something that the many fans of the “CorCross” are very interested in seeing.
Teaser video for Corolla Cross facelift posted by Toyota TH ahead of launch
While this news has all but been confirmed, Toyota Thailand is keeping it very conservative as far as teasers go. Yes, they did post a video on YouTube but we’re just given a handful of dark silhouettes. Based on the image above, it looks like nothing drastic has been done given that it’s a facelift, a minor model change, or an aesthetic upgrade, if you will. The overall shape will likely remain the same as we can surmise by the silhouette.
We do get a pretty clear image of the new design headlight assemblies, as seen in the photos above and below. The video shows sequential turning lamps, which is similar to what the JDM model has. Aside from these, there’s really not much we can go by as far as changes go on the outside. The interior is an even bigger mystery as that’s been totally left out of the video.
Regardless, we think it’s still going to look pretty good. What we hope for is that the non-GR spec Corolla Cross gets a few more goodies to make it look just as good.
With the Corolla Cross facelift’s launch only a few days away, and if you were to put yourselves into Toyota‘s product planners’ shoes, what would you slap on to or add – or even remove – from the current CorCross?
Any update is a welcome update, and as good as it already looks, we hope this will 1-up whatever good formula Toyota has for their latest global model crossover. And if anything, we wonder how much of a facelift the GR-spec might be getting. Now that’s something to be excited about.
