Yesterday’s fuel price adjustments brought good news to both gasoline and diesel users. This week, however, it will be different for users of the former as a hike is slated for gas, while diesel, on the other hand, is set for a rollback. Tomorrow, July 23, gas prices will go up by PHP 0.10 per liter and diesel prices go down by PHP 0.40 per liter.
Fuel price of gas goes up while diesel goes down tomorrow
Diesel users will be pretty glad with the fuel price rollback streak that will mark its 2nd week tomorrow. Gas users won’t be as happy, though. Those whose vehicles use the former will enjoy lower prices per liter; the price reduction is set at PHP 0.40. As for the latter, it will become more expensive by PHP 0.10 per liter.
Depending on the motorist’s brand of choice, adjustments to pump prices will be applied at different times. The earliest, per their usual practice, will be the likes of Shell, Petron, Unioil, Caltex, and Seaoil. They will all do so at 6:00 AM. Cleanfuel will have all its stations’ pumps reflect the new prices later in the day at 4:01 PM.
It should come as no surprise that fuel prices will continue to move in a very unpredictable manner. Regardless of which fuel type one uses, one should always be ready for an impending price hike, and thankful for a rollback. That said, vehicles with alternative sources of power may very well become more attractive sooner than later. With the latest EVIDA Update that brought tax exemptions to full and plug-in hybrid vehicles, could the volatile petroleum product market make EVs more interesting to more people?
Here’s to hoping that we get better fuel price-related news next week. For now, tongue-in-cheek, let’s all try to make the most out of our top-ups.
