Fuel prices will see an increase this week. Following a few weeks of rollbacks for either – or both – gasoline and diesel, tomorrow brings different and rather sad news as the rollback streak will be broken yet again. When May 28 rolls in, we can expect both gas and diesel to be more expensive by PHP 0.40 per liter.
Fuel price hike begins anew tomorrow, May 28, 2024
Many have been pretty happy with whatever fuel price cuts we were able to get in the past few weeks. It all comes to a grinding halt this week, though. As the clock strikes 6:00 AM, a fuel price hike will take effect but as always, depending on the brand, different stations will update pump prices at different times. We can expect prices of gas and diesel to go up by PHP 0.40 when the changes are applied.
That said, a majority of players including Petron, Shell, Caltex, Seaoil, and Unioil will be the first to update their prices. They normally do so at the aforementioned time, 6:00 AM. Cleanfuel, on the other hand, offers a bit of a reprieve for its customers, and they can expect prices to remain the same as last week’s until 4:00 in the afternoon tomorrow.
In the meantime, here are some fuel-saving tips that you can look into to make the most out of your tank and your top-up. The unpredictability of weekly fuel price adjustments does warrant some things that we can (and should) do to save on our consumption, so best we get to it sooner rather than later.
