So the streak ends. Not that we’ve had many continuous fuel price rollbacks in the past weeks, but tomorrow, we will see gas and diesel prices rise again. Albeit at different times depending on the brand, gasoline pump prices will go up by PHP 0.95 per liter and diesel will also be more expensive by PHP 1.30 per liter. The rollbacks were good while they lasted.
Not so good news as a fuel price hike is set for tomorrow
Though there were a few splits in fuel price adjustments, there were also a few days when rollbacks were applied to both gasoline and diesel products in the past couple of weeks. As the clock strikes midnight, we can expect Caltex to be among the first to implement the new prices at their pumps. Later on in the morning, other players including Shell, Petron, Unioil, Seaoil, and Petro Gazz will update their pumps at 6:00 AM.
Cleanfuel, on the other hand, has always given its patrons a bit more time to enjoy last week’s fuel prices. They will be updating their prices for gas and diesel at 4:01 PM.
We can all remember how the unrest between Russia and Ukraine direly affected the prices of petroleum products worldwide. The same unrest has befallen other countries in the past weeks and tomorrow’s price increase might actually be an inkling of things to come; although we hope it’s not.
