Honda Cars Philippines Steering Gearbox Recall

The issue itself is described in the announcement, “Findings show that due to the decrease in grease amount in the worm gear, meshing area of the Electric Power Steering Gearbox during use, the sliding resistance in the meshing area increases and the torque fluctuation becomes larger while turning the steering wheel. This causes abnormal noise or sticky steering that makes the driver feel in danger.”

The announcement goes on further to state that there are still no official reports of accidents caused by this steering issue. Owners of the following affected models and units can head over to any of the authorized Honda dealerships and avail of the part replacement free of charge :

Civic 4D 2022-2024: 2,463 units

CR-V 2024: 2,762 units

Civic Type-R: 280 units
