Jeep as a brand has always followed its path when it comes to building cars. Generally speaking, the storied automaker has always chosen to remain traditional to its core while adding just that bit of modernity to keep the vehicles “up to date”.
Recently though, with a burgeoning EV market, even the legendary models are making the switch. The brand is planning on introducing a few models by 2025.
Jeep New Models 2025
Jeep has a new CEO Antonio Filosa, and he recently spoke to the media about the brand’s plans for the future. Part of this plan is the launch of the Jeep Wagoneer S, which is going to be an EV. It said that the Wagoneer S would be able to accelerate from 0-60 (mph) in just 3.5 seconds, that’s because of the assumed 600 hp powertrain that it will come with.
The Wagoneer S will have a new EV stablemate as well, the Recon EV. The Recon is a more rugged and offroad type of vehicle, it draws more inspiration from the heritage of the brand.
Apart from the vehicles above, Jeep will continue to grow its plug-in hybrid options, with a Gladiator PHEV in the books, and a planned few more new models to help restart the brand’s falling sales numbers globally.
It’ll be interesting to see how the world accepts the brand’s new direction, especially here in the Philippines with such a huge following and popularity. We’ll have to wait and see till we get our hands on the electrified models.
