Koenigsegg Jesko Attack sets production car lap record at Laguna Seca

The Koenigsegg Jesko Attack broke the lap record for homologated production cars at Laguna Seca Raceway on August 18th, 2024. The 3.6 km circuit, known for its challenging corners and elevation changes, including the infamous Corkscrew, saw the Jesko achieve a lap time of 1:24.86, verified by Racelogic.

Driver Markus Lundh, who had never driven at Laguna Seca before, piloted the Jesko to this record-breaking performance. The car’s Carbon fiber monocoque chassis, twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 engine, and advanced aerodynamics were key to its success. The engine produces 1,280 horsepower at 7,800 rpm (1,600 hp on E85), with a redline of 8,500 rpm and up to 1,500 Nm of torque.

The Jesko Attack features a Koenigsegg 9-speed Light Speed Transmission (LST), Koenigsegg Electronic Differential (KED), and Ultimate Power on Demand (UPOD) via the Koenigsegg Gearbox Control Module (KGCM). Its advanced aerodynamics include a dynamic, active rear wing, an enlarged front splitter, and underbody aero flaps, contributing to a maximum downforce of 1,400 kg.

To ensure effective braking, the Jesko Attack is equipped with ventilated ceramic discs—410 mm at the front with 6-piston calipers and 395 mm at the rear with 4-piston calipers.
