Less than 6 weeks after bravely announcing an on-time opening, the LRT-1 Cavite Extension is now ready to service train commuters, bringing five (5) new stations to add to the entire rail line. Up to its opening, a barrage of delays and some setbacks looked to further push the Extension’s operability to an even later year, but lo and behold, here it finally is. So without further ado, let’s look at LRT-1’s new schedule and updated Fare Matrix, shall we?

With new stations, it was to be expected that the opening of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension would mean an updated schedule and fare matrix for the entire train line. We’ve brought that information right here, and for you, our dear readers, so you won’t have to look far for the info you need.

Just as added information, the first 5 aforementioned new stations of the LRT-1 Cavite Extension are the following: Redemptorist-Aseana, MIA Road, PITX, Ninoy Aquino Avenue, and Dr. Santos (formerly the Sucat Station). Three (3) other stations are in the pipe for construction and these will be in Las Pinas, Zapote, and Bacoor (Niog). In its totality, the Extension will have a length of 11.7 kilometers.
With the opening of the 5 new stations, LRT-1 will be able to service an estimated additional 80,00 commuters daily, on top of its current capacity. Once it has been completed, that number balloons to an additional 300,000 added to its capacity.
Hopefully, we won’t have to wait too long (or as long, or worse, longer) for the next stations to be completed. That would be really awesome for train takers.
