Double whammy, both LRT-1, LRT-2 suspend operations on Holy Week

Following the MRT-3’s announcement, both LRT-1 and LRT-2 have also announced their operations schedule for Holy Week this year. These two train lines cover different operation suspension dates, and you can find information on their schedules below.

LRT-1 and LRT-2 Holy Week 2024 operation schedules

LRT 1 will be closing down for Holy Week earlier. Operations will halt beginning March 27, Wednesday, and will be until Easter Sunday, March 31. The closure will be used for maintenance activities. Those taking this train line can do so on Monday and Tuesday next week, following normal operating hours. The first train rolls out at 4:30 AM with the last train from Baclaran will roll out at 10:00 PM, and the last train from Fernando Poe Jr./Roosevelt Avenue at 10:15 PM.

As for LRT 2, its closure schedule is similar to MRT-3’s. There will be no operations starting March 28, Maundy Thursday until March 31, Easter Sunday. Regular operation hours will run until March 27, Holy Wednesday, with the first trains from Antipolo and Recto heading out at 5:00 AM, and the last trains from the same stations rolling out at 7:00 PM.

With about a week to go, it’s a good thing that advisories like these have been published so those taking the trains will have time to work out their transportation means during the Holy Week.
