Omoda 5 scores 5 stars at ASEAN safety NCAP test

Recently, the ASEAN NCAP five-star safety test results were officially released, and OMODA has always adhered to the same quality. Its first global model, OMODA C5, performed excellently with the highest score in its class in this test, with a total score of 88.64 points, winning the five-star safety certification and demonstrating its leading strength.

It is reported that the OMODA C5 has previously earned the prestigious  5-star safety ratings from both the European E-NCAP and the Australian  A-NCAP — two of the most authoritative and stringent new car safety certifications worldwide. In its latest achievement, the OMODA C5 successfully challenged ASEAN’s most rigorous safety standards – the first joint  China-Malaysia test. The vehicle excelled by achieving perfect scores in 11 out of the 18 test sub-categories, setting multiple historical records with its high scores. Notably, in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Safety Assist (SA)

test categories, the OMODA C5 delivered exceptional performance, securing the highest scores in its class with a total score of 88.64 points, thereby setting a new benchmark for 5-star safety.

Safety stands as the fundamental priority for automobiles and a critical standard jointly upheld by countries across the globe. From the outset of its development, the OMODA C5 has maintained a user-centric approach,  focusing on every detail—from materials, and structure design to intelligent configurations. The vehicle has been meticulously engineered to meet global  5-star safety standards, ensuring the highest level of protection for the safety of users worldwide.

Robust materials are fundamental to ensuring safety. The OMODA C5  ensures vehicle robustness through a 78% high-strength steel coverage rate.  Particularly in critical collision protection areas, the OMODA C5 employs ultra-high-strength steel and hot-formed steel rated at 1500 MPa, elevating the body rigidity to an exceptionally high level. This design significantly enhances users’ safety index in local mobility.

The vehicle body structure is crucial for ensuring comprehensive safety protection for a vehicle. The OMODA C5 features an innovative “caged energy absorption” design, creating a caged energy-absorbing space capsule structure. Compared to traditional vehicle body structures, the OMODA C5’s caged structure possesses the core advantages of being lightweight,  high-strength, and sufficiently resourced. It is worth mentioning the “three-way pressure distribution design + bilateral four energy-absorbing boxes” design,  which effectively absorbs and disperses collision energy in both frontal and side impacts while ensuring the integrity of the cabin. In addition, the OMODA  C5 is equipped with restraint systems such as force-limiting seat belts and airbags, which work together to minimize occupant injuries, thereby enhancing the safety of both drivers and passengers. Furthermore, the OMODA C5 also excels in protecting rear passengers, especially infants and young children. It achieved excellent results in crash tests with infant and child seat installations,  demonstrating its comprehensive approach and thoughtful design in safety performance.

Beyond its passive safety features, the OMODA C5 also excels in active safety. The OMODA C5 is equipped with an array of advanced intelligent driving assistance technologies, including a 360° panoramic camera,  full-speed range Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Automatic  Braking (AEB) System, Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Rear Cross-Traffic Alert  (RCTA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Departure Prevention (LDP), and 16 other intelligent safety technologies. These technologies work together to significantly enhance vehicle stability and controllability, thereby reducing the risk of accidents.
