With the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) just one week away brands have already teased which vehicles they’ll be launching during the show. Peugeot is one of the brands taking advantage of the spotlight during the show, by launching not just any car but an EV at that.
Peugeot e-2008 EV
Last March 31, on the brand’s official Facebook page, a teaser post clearly indicates that the brand is launching an EV. Plastered on the post is the line “Allure is about to get electric”, but what stands out is the recognizable headlight cluster of the e-2008.
No exact details and specifications have been announced yet, but if the e-2008 we get is the same as the international model, we can expect a 50 kWh battery pack that powers a 100 kW electric motor. This creates a total output of 136 PS and a generous 260 Nm of torque, total range is said to be 180 to 380 kilometers depending on the traffic conditions.
What will be interesting to see now is how the brand plans to price the Peugeot e-2008, with new incentives proposed earlier this year in order to lower EV prices, could we see an affordable option from the Lion brand? better head over to MIAS to find out.
