News of the PNR closing down its Metro Manila operations in December 2023 has already made the rounds, but that’s not something that will stop them from opening a new provincial route. As of today, those who may wish to travel by rail from Naga, Camarines Sur to Ligao, Albay – and vice versa – will be happy to know that such a travel line now exists. And here’s what you need to know from times and fares alike.
PNR sets 2 trips between CamSur and Albay
In a post that was shared by the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the opening of the newest PNR line was announced. Beginning today, 2 trips – first from Ligao-Naga and the second from Naga-Ligao – will be operational to carry passengers to and from the provinces of Camarines Sur and Albay. The first trip rolls off at 5:30 AM and the second trip at 5:30 PM. Passengers are likewise reminded that the travel time between the two stops will be 2 hours and eleven minutes long.
Prices, you ask? Worry not as we have included the full Fare Matric for the Naga-Ligao. Feel free to save the photo (or better yet, bookmark this page) for your information and convenience. Discounted fares are also applicable and will be given to senior citizens, students, and PWDs. The discounted fares are in the photo below.
The PNR may be nearing its “end”, but the effort to make lines that are not involved in the closure as useful as possible and to utilize them as much as commuters can is quite commendable. After all, public transport really is for the public and its comfort and convenience. The aforementioned closure is to make way for the construction of the NSCR, or North-South Railway Projects and will see the Metro Manila lines close until its completion.
