Porsche Philippines introduces the latest evolution of the groundbreaking fully electric Porsche Taycan sports car. Leading this electrifying lineup is the new Taycan Turbo S, which is more powerful than ever with a staggering output of 952 hp and 1,110 Nm of torque.
“We ushered in electromobility in the Philippines with the introduction of the Porsche Taycan Turbo S at the end of 2020. The fully electric sports car immediately set the benchmark in performance and luxury that is yet to be matched in the electric vehicle segment. We are continuing this spearheading success story with the new Taycan Turbo S,” says Roberto Coyiuto III, President and CEO of Porsche Philippines.
Besides an increase in power, all new Taycan models command significant enhancements. These result in a longer driving range, quicker acceleration, and shorter battery charging times. The models’ distinctive designs have also been sharpened, which are then complemented by an even more comfortable ride.
Porsche Taycan Turbo S: Heightened performance
The power increase allows the new Taycan Turbo S to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in a phenomenal 2.4 seconds, markedly faster compared to the previous model. A new push-to-pass button unleashes full power for 10 seconds to further boost acceleration.
Taking advantage of the substantial horsepower and torque ratings is the adaptive two-chamber air suspension system.
The adaptive air suspension in the new Taycan Turbo S and other Taycan models offers an unprecedented spread between driving comfort and driving dynamics.
Expressive designs
Expressing the higher performance level of the new Taycan Turbo S and other Taycan models is a more refined and purist aesthetic. The models are defined by fresh styling touches at its front and rear ends, with the range-topping Taycan Turbo S further distinguished by added design elements like unique vents and aerodynamic features.
The new Taycan models’ headlights, now flatter and edgier, feature high-resolution HD matrix technology and Porsche’s characteristic four-point graphics. Their fenders have been reshaped to emphasize the width of the sports car.
The Porsche logo placed on the rear light strip is now three-dimensional. A range of new wheel designs polish the aesthetic of the latest Taycan models.
Enhanced cockpit experience
The latest generation of the Porsche Driver Experience is fitted to the new Taycan Turbo S and other Taycan models. Their instrument cluster, central display and passenger display have improved user interface and offer additional functions — for example, six views on the instrument cluster can be called on by the driver.
A configurable display provides information related to the electric powertrain, including battery charge level and temperature, and the status of the charging process.
The central display can be configured according to preference, with widgets that can be moved around. Both Apple CarPlay and Android connectivity features are even more deeply integrated, with numerous displays and functions accessible on the models’ screen.
More efficient than ever
The new Taycan Turbo S and other Taycan models take only 18 minutes to fully charge their battery. This is possible even with a larger battery capacity. The Performance Battery Plus now has a gross capacity of 105 kWh, increased from 93.4 kWh.
The new Taycan Turbo S and other Taycan models can also recuperate energy more efficiently. The maximum recuperation capacity during deceleration from high speeds increased by more than 30%, or from 290 kW to up to 400 kW.
Along with more efficient charging and energy recuperation is a longer driving range. The Taycan Turbo S can cover up to 630 kilometers (according to WLTP tests) on a full charge, while the Taycan rear-wheel drive model can travel up to 678 kilometers on the same fully charged battery.
With higher performance, increased efficiency, and more comfortable ride expressed by sharpened design, the new Taycan models excel in every discipline.
