The celebration of our nation’s independence is coming, and with it, the Capital City of Manila announced the road closure of Roxas Boulevard and other surrounding roadways on the 12th of June, 2023, Monday. That’s Monday next week.
Roxas Boulevard Road Closure 5-10 AM, other roads closed 12-10 PM on June 12
To commemorate the 125th year of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence, a portion of Roxas Boulevard will be closed. The said portion will span the stretch from TM Kalaw and Padre Burgos. Both directions/lanes will be closed to traffic from 5:00-10:00 AM for the flag-raising ceremony.
A Civic Military Parade has also been scheduled as part of the day’s festivities, and from 12:01-10:00 PM, Katigbak Parkway, South Road, and Independence Road will also be closed off to traffic.
During these road closures, affected trucks bound for North Harbor are advised to reroute. From SLEX, they are to move into Osmena Highway, turn right into Quirino Avenue, go straight to Nagtahan St. towards Lacson Avenue, turn left into Yuseco St., travel straight ahead towards Capulong St., and either turn left or turn right into R-10 road towards their destination.
Trucks coming from the Parañaque area will have to turn right at Quirino Avenue towards Nagtahan then Lacson Ave. to get to their destination. Trucks going to the south may use the same route.
125 years is a long time to have enjoyed our country’s freedom, and with every year, a celebration is warranted, indeed. While these road closures may be some form of inconvenience, it also falls on a National Holiday anyway so we can avoid them throughout.
Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!
