Tesla looks ready to burst into the Philippines with its first dealership. 2025, maybe?

Yes, you read that right, folks. Tesla has been making headlines (quite consistently, and about a lot of topics, mind you) and the one most applicable to us is that the stalwart EV manufacturer may very well be on its way to opening in the Philippines. Articles have been making the rounds and after some snooping, it may actually be true! Why do we say so? Read on.

This news isn’t that old, mind you. Rumors of Tesla opening shop have been around since early this year, but it’s only now that it seems to be gaining more traction. The plan is rumored to be a dealership that will open in Uptown Bonifacio; that’s in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. In an attempt to find some sort of verification, we looked at the official Careers website of the EV brand, and lo and behold! Just look at that photo above!

Yes, ma’ams and sirs, that over there is a screenshot of the (currently) available jobs for Tesla based in Taguig. Some might say that this could simply be that of a back office, but if you look closer, they are looking for CSRs, technicians, (brand, sales, service, delivery) advisors, and even a store manager. At this point, it’s pretty much a foregone conclusion that Elon and his brand – and electrified fleet – are on their way to the Philippines.

All these said, are we finally going to see legit, dealership-purchased and serviceable vehicles like the Cybertruck (which began production late last year), the Models S and 3, and even the Models X and Y as well?

It may very well be safe to assume that we will, given all the information that’s available on the worldwide web, and on Tesla’s site(s) as well. Is there a market for it in the Philippines? It sure looks like it; a market enough for Elon Musk to even consider coming in here. But how will pricing be tackled, what with the abundance of other electrified brands and models already in the country?

One at a time, yes? For now, maybe what we should have a closer look at are the job openings on the Careers page.
