The G50 Plus makes a return through MG Philippines and features incremental upgrades
SAIC Motor Philippines, Inc. has officially launched the MG G50 Plus, a new entry for MG in the competitive MPV market. The G50 Plus aims to offer value-packed features typically seen in higher-end models at a competitive price. This spacious three-row vehicle can seat 7 to 8 passengers, making it ideal for families and large groups.
The MG G50 Plus is designed to be a strong contender in the MPV segment, providing ample room, comfort, and convenience. It features a user-friendly infotainment system and a range of safety technologies, including airbags, ABS with EBD, and a rearview camera system. The vehicle’s spacious interior and modern design accommodate large or growing families, whether for long trips or daily errands.
The G50 Plus combines a premium exterior with comfort-focused interior elements. The front grille design and LED/Halogen headlamp combination create a sophisticated look, while the 16-inch alloy wheels on the STD and COM variants and 17-inch alloy wheels and roof rail on the LUX variant enhance its appearance and functionality. Inside, the STD and COM models offer an 8-seater configuration with a 2+3+3 layout, ensuring ample space and comfort. The LUX variant features a 7-seater layout, two captain seats in the second row, and a full leather-style interior. A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a six-speaker sound system ensures an enjoyable ride for all passengers.
Safety is a crucial focus for the G50 Plus, which includes an anti-lock brake system, hill hold control, electronic stability program, parking sensors, reverse camera, cruise control, electronic parking brake with auto brake hold, and a push-button ignition system.
Under the hood, the G50 Plus is powered by a 1.5L Turbo Engine delivering 178 hp and 280Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between a six-speed automatic or a seven-speed “wet-type” dual-clutch transmission, designed to provide optimal power delivery for confident highway cruising and ease in hauling loads.
MG Philippines President Felix Jiang highlighted the G50 Plus as a strong contender in the local MPV market, offering a luxurious interior and modern design for families or large groups.
