Mercedes-Benz as a brand tends to really get aggressive with their AMG models. These performance versions are some of the quickest and wildest vehicles.
With that reputation, the brand has whipped out its latest AMG model, the GT63 S E.
Mercedes-Benz GT63 S E
The significance of this particular AMG model is the power, the GT63 S E is the quickest Mercedes-Benz ever, making an astonishing 805 HP. This was achieved through a combined effort from the 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8, and an electric motor at the back, making the GT63 S E a hybrid. Shifting is done through a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission, and power is sent to all wheels via the brand’s 4Matic+ system.
In a very AMG way, even if the vehicle is a plug-in hybrid, there is no mention of the range yet. In fact, the brand elaborated that the electric motor is there for performance purposes rather than efficiency. The battery is kept at an optimal operating temperature in order to extract the most power when needed.
With all this power of course there are also clever updates when it comes to the handling of the vehicle, for instance at normal speeds the power is sent to the rear, but upon detection of slip some power is routed to the front. There is also rear-axle steering plus a suspension system with the AMG Active Ride Control, and finally big ceramic brakes.
When it comes to looks, the AMG GT63 S E remains basically the same as the current model, a sleek and somewhat glamorous 2-door coupe body that hides a beast under the hood. The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT63 S E will be available sometime next year, and prices are set to be announced sometime this 2024.
