The Toyota Gazoo Racing team has been responsible for some of the most exciting and sought-after cars being sold nowadays. It seems that every time the ‘skunk works’ division of the brand has everyone on their toes every time they tease an upcoming model or special edition.
Toyota GR to reveal car at Le Mans
In an interesting move, GR is said to be unveiling a model during the 24 hours of Le Mans race weekend. While the brand hasn’t confirmed what it is, the teaser photo provided might point to what seems to be a Prius.
While that may sound like a joke or anticlimactic, the all-new Prius has people raving about how good it actually is. In fact, if you watch some of the commercials the brand is touting it as a ‘quick’ car. Not to mention the fact that the Prius rides on the TNGA-C platform that’s also used in the GR Corolla. The new Prius comes standard with 196 Hp and 220 Hp in the Prius Prime guise so it’s not just quick for a Prius it’s quick in general.
What makes us think it’s a Prius? well, the brand said that the car being launched during the 24 hours of Le Mans will help “efforts to realize a Carbon Neutral society in Japan”. Furthermore, the brand claims that the car will feature “technologies that have been developed through numerous challenges in motorsports participation will be exhibited.”
With these clues, all fingers point toward the Prius but in all honesty given Toyota’s size and backing they could spring a totally new model/concept just for this reveal. We are excited though about a ‘green’ GR model.
