Back in September last year the Jeepney Company, together with Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr., showed attendees of Philippine Travel Mart 2013 a scale drawing of the proposed double-decker jeepney. A year later, a prototype was unveiled at SMX Convention Center for the 25th Philippine Travel Mart and is expected to make its maiden voyage on October.

The company has already started taking reservations for the double-decker jeepney who will take tourists to top destinations around the metro. According to Philippine Daily Inquirer, renting the pimped-out jeepney for eight hours will set prospective customers back Php11,000 – Php18,000.

Do the math.

    • There’s no math in here. It boils down to discipline, or lack of it, of the jeepney drivers (include the bus drivers).

    • It’s not the numbers, its the attitude. A lot of the drivers of these PUJ are reckless and ignorant of the basic traffic rules and etiquette. Stopping at traffic corners and in the middle lane and all. Buses are also guilty, given they also stop in the middle or block one lane waiting for the other vehicle to exit the other.

  3. That design has been Union-Jacked! (Excuse my language)…

  6. They keep calling it double decker jeep when the structure and workload is already classified as a bus. Stupid company.

  7. Much like the double-decker buses in England. 🙂

  9. So what’s cheaper, this one of or a tourist bus?

  10. It should be the new standard for all jeepneys. This could minimize the numbers of jeepneys that will use the roads, thus It will lighten up the traffic in some major roads.
