Another Toyota crossover is bound for the PH, and that’s finally been confirmed to be the 2024 Yaris Cross. Much has been said and published about this B-segment offering. Now that the manufacturer’s local website has already posted it, that’s all the confirmation anyone should need, yes? A decent number of details and features were published on the site, and here’s what’s known so far.
2024 Toyota Yaris Cross, 3 variants, starts at PHP 1.199M

Yes, you read that right. As of this article’s posting, Toyota Motor Philippines has put up three (3) variants of the Yaris Cross to choose from. These are the G CVT, V CVT, and the S HEV. This also confirms that aside from adding a new vehicle to the local lineup, another hybrid option will also be thrown into the eclectic mix of electrified Toyotas.

Of course, we can expect the “entry-level” G variant to get the least amount of goodies, but with no less Toyota quality. Still, the absence of a Panoramic View Monitor and Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) is a bit of a downer. But again, it is entry-level. As you move up to the V and S, TSS becomes standard in these two Yaris Cross variants and they also come with a panoramic view monitor.
There are two (2) engine choices for the Yaris Cross. The petrol-powered G and V get a 1.5-liter mill, the same as the one found in other Toyota models like the Vios, Avanza, and Veloz. That makes about 106 HP and 138 Nm of torque. The hybrid V does get the same gas engine but is paired with an electric motor. Combined power goes up to about 170 HP. All three variants come with a CVT.

The published prices for the 2024 Toyota Yaris Cross are as follows:
- G CVT = PHP 1,199,000
- V CVT = PHP 1,296,000 (+ 10,000 for Scarlet SE or Attitude Black Mica)
- S HEV (Hybrid) CVT = PHP 1,598,000
Toyota has kept all the crossover bases covered with the upcoming release of the Yaris Cross. It’s smaller than the Corolla Cross and bigger than the Raize. Price-wise, it’s also more affordable than the former and just a wee bit higher than the latter. If size is what a customer is looking for in this segment, then spoilt for choice is what he or she will be with Toyota.
Pretty exciting times for Toyota fans. We’re sure as heck excited to finally see this in the metal, and we’re just waiting for its public launch on August 4 to get all the nitty gritty details we all want to know. Yes, Toyota Motor Philippines, we’ll wait.
