We’ve had no shortage of fuel price increases in the past couple of weeks; months, even. Tomorrow will see a split in the price updates of gas and diesel though, with the former set to go up by PHP 0.90 and the latter to go down by PHP 0.20. It may not be the best news that can make users of both fuel types a bit happier this week, but we’ll take it.
Tomorrow’s fuel price update will see a gas hike and a diesel rollback
It’s not uncommon to see different movements in fuel prices week after week. While one gets a hike, the other gets a rollback, and that’s exactly what’s set to happen tomorrow. The adjustments will increase the price per liter of gasoline, making it more expensive by PHP 0.90, whereas diesel gets a little bit cheaper per liter, down by PHP 0.20.
Per usual, different brands will update their pumps’ prices at different times of the day. Regardless, the fuel prices across all brands nationwide will change tomorrow, December 3, 2024. The earliest time at which the new fuel prices will be reflected will be at 6:00 AM, and the brands that will implement it include Shell, Petron, Unioil, Caltex, and Seaoil. Cleanfuel, however, will do so later in the day at 4:01 PM, as is its usual practice.
We have always been quite “vocal” about motorists in the PH looking into other forms of power for our vehicles, and that includes electrification. Charging stations, though still greatly lacking across the country, have been free to use in many places, malls specifically, but as Ayala announced its plans for a paid EV charging service, many will now begin to take the resulting amounts into consideration, as far as they cost (on paper) versus how much gas or diesel would.
There’s never a guaranteed way to find out what the movements of fuel prices will be, but the fact remains that hikes and increases can never be avoided. So whether the buying public chooses to remain using gas and diesel or shift to electrification, we’ll all just have to (sadly) live with a constant pinch to our wallets.
This notwithstanding, we wish you a good week ahead, dear readers!
