San Miguel Corporation (SMC) has not slowed down with infrastructure development. The recent opening of the NAIAx Tramo Access Ramp is the newest “feather on its cap” and with it, traffic in the area is expected to improve as it provides seamless access to the country’s main international gateway – NAIA Terminals 1 and 2 – and other areas.
NAIAx Tramo Access Ramp makes way for new Paranaque, Pasay, and Cavite exits
The NAIAx Tramo Access Ramp is an 800-meter extension that connects Tramo, more formally named Aurora Boulevard in Pasay, to NAIAx. While it does give a new exit point into different cities, perhaps its most vital function is that it provides access to both Terminals 1 and 2 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
“This Tramo access ramp provides another option for motorists heading to the airport, and other areas in Paranaque City and Cavite province. We believe it can help relieve overall traffic congestion in the area, and improve traffic flow within the vicinity of the airport,” said Ramon S. Ang, SMC President and CEO during the Ramp’s ceremonial opening on March 1, 2024.
Also present during the opening ceremony of the NAIAx Tramo Access Ramp, Public Works Secretary Manuel Bonoan who led the inauguration said “The Tramo access ramp has been in San Miguel’s drawing board for a long, long time because they knew it would enhance the efficiency of NAIA expressway, and improve the mobility of motorists going to the airport.”
“San Miguel will continue to pursue these vital infrastructure projects, in close coordination with our government, because of their benefits to our people and economy. Through these projects, we also create jobs, improve the mobility of goods and services, and make our cities and regions more primed for growth. All these serve to support and sustain our growing economy,” Ang later added.
An 11-kilometer-long elevated tollway, NAIAx connects the Skyway network the the three terminals of Ninoy Aquino International Airport, as well as Pasay’s Entertainment City, Macapagal Boulevard, Sucat Road in Paranaque, and the road networks to the province of Cavite.
We all know how jammed traffic can get to and from the airport(s), so should it work as intended, the NAIAx Tramo Access Ramp will prove to be a vital point of the expressway, indeed. Now we’ll wait to hear from the public if it is.
