Here’s how Mitsubishi’s new Compact Crossover will look

In the past few months, Mitsubishi has been heavily teasing and displaying its all-new design for the all-new B-Segment Crossover. Finally, the brand revealed the new design in its entirety just before the public reveal at the 30th Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).

The Mitsubishi “New SUV”

Interestingly this new crossover has no official name apart from being dubbed “The New SUV”. This vehicle is actually based on the XFC concept and is specifically designed for the Southeast Asian market, meaning the brands return to crossovers since the ASX (in PH at least).

The design concept is called Silky and Solid, up first is the updated and tweaked Dynamic Shield designed front fascia. In its entirety, the overall design is very modern but “beefy” as well, and for a vehicle in this segment, it actually sets itself apart. Aiding in its uniqueness are the T-shaped headlights that are recognizable as the brand’s signature.

Other details about the vehicle have also been revealed by the brand, things like 222mm of ground clearance, 18-inch alloy wheels with large-diameter tires, and a Dynamic Sound Yamaha premium sound system which apparently will be first used in this model. As for powertrain details, the brand has only revealed that it will be using a 1.5-liter gasoline unit that will be mated to a CVT, so figures have been confirmed.

August 10, 2023, is the date that Mitsubishi will be showing this vehicle in the flesh during the 30th Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). Sales are expected to begin sometime near the latter half of the year with the Philippines set to follow soon after.
