As the pumps would have it, we have ourselves another fuel price hike this week, ladies and gentlemen. Yes, gasoline and diesel will again be on the rise tomorrow, January 14, 2025, and the former goes up by PHP 0.80USD 0.01INR 1EUR 0.01CNY 0.10 per liter, while the latter becomes more expensive by PHP 0.90USD 0.02INR 1EUR 0.01CNY 0.11 per liter. Not a good way to start the 1st two weeks of the 1st month of the new year, isn’t it?
Fuel prices go on another hike this week
2025 has not been kind so far when it comes to fuel prices. Last week saw a hike and this week is not any different. While many are still reeling from the long travels and horrendous traffic that returned to the metropolis last week, we now have to come to grips with more expensive gas and diesel prices tomorrow. A PHP 0.80USD 0.01INR 1EUR 0.01CNY 0.10 hike will be applied to the price of gas products while a slightly higher PHP 0.90USD 0.02INR 1EUR 0.01CNY 0.11 will be tagged onto diesel.
If you happen to be a Cleanfuel user, you’ll be pleased to know that you can still enjoy today’s lower prices until 4:00 PM tomorrow. Per its usual practice, Cleanfuel adjusts its pumps’ prices in the afternoon on Tuesday. However, more of the other players update earlier – as early as 6:00 AM – and this includes Unioil, Seaoil, Caltex, Petron, and Shell. Regardless of time, though, we can expect higher fuel prices per liter tomorrow, January 14, 2025.
We can’t stress enough that even as a new year has been ushered in, so must we start considering alternative sources of power for our vehicles. Whether it’s by educating us on how, say, Honda’s e:HEV technology works or getting word around that brands like MG are offering a lifetime warranty for their EV batteries, it’s about time we truly start thinking about electrification or even hybridization as where mobility is headed. And that’s not even a bad thing at all.
With fuel prices already on the rise as early as now, there’s no better time to think about it, right?
