Formula 1 (F1) has been slowly trying to increase its popularity and viewership in the past few years. One of the ways they’ve been trying to achieve that is through the expansion of the season, by adding more and more races and destinations every year.
This year F1 stuffed 21 destinations into its already bulging calendar, and it seems they aren’t satisfied just yet.
F1 to do record-breaking 24 race 2023 season
The World Motorsport Council has just approved next season’s (2023) race calendar. According to the schedule the total number of races for next year amount to 24. This incredible schedule puts the 2023 season as the most “packed” season in F1 history.
The key highlights of the schedule are the return of the China GP, which saw a brief hiatus in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Furthermore, the Miami GP and the upcoming Las Vegas GP are in the 2023 calendar as well.
Here’s the approved 2023 calendar:
So if you’re a Formula 1 fan, best to mark your calendar for next year. It’s gonna be one heck of a season for sure.
