Audi has unveiled the third generation of its Q5 SUV, a model that has dominated the premium midsize SUV segment since its debut in 2008. Gernot Döllner, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, emphasized the importance of the Q5, calling it a key player in Audi’s lineup for over 15 years. He expressed confidence in the new model, describing it as a “sporty all-rounder” with a dynamic design that will continue the Q5’s success story.

The new Q5 is built on Audi’s Premium Platform Combustion (PPC), which is shared with the latest A5 models. This platform allows Audi to maintain high technical standards while offering flexibility across different segments. The Q5’s updated design reflects a sporty and technology-oriented approach, combining high variability with everyday usability.
A significant feature of the Q5 is its advanced interior space concept, including an adjustable rear seat that can be moved and tilted to increase trunk volume or enhance passenger comfort. The new model offers up to 1,473 liters of transport volume with the rear seats folded down. Inside, the cabin is designed to focus on user-centric functionality and visual clarity, integrating high-quality materials and advanced digital features like the Audi MMI panoramic display and the Audi virtual cockpit.
On the exterior, the Q5 presents a sportier appearance with a strong shoulder line and a self-assured front design. The vehicle is available in three distinct versions: basic, advanced, and S line, with a choice of eleven colors, including exclusive options for the S models.
Under the hood, the Q5 will be launched with three engine variants, all equipped with Audi’s MHEV plus technology. This mild-hybrid system supports the combustion engine, enhancing performance and reducing emissions. The engines are paired with a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission, and options include both front-wheel and Quattro all-wheel drive.
Audi has also focused on aerodynamics and aeroacoustics in the new Q5, optimizing the underbody and exterior design to reduce turbulence and improve airflow. The vehicle is equipped with advanced lighting technology, including second-generation digital OLED rear lights and a projection light in the spoiler, enhancing both safety and aesthetic appeal.
Production of the new Q5 will continue at Audi’s plant in San José Chiapa, Mexico, where sustainability practices are emphasized. This includes the planned introduction of partially electrified plug-in hybrid variants as Audi progresses toward electrification.
The latest Q5 aims to continue the success left behind by the outgoing model, and seeing as the Q5 has sold relatively well here in the Philippines, means that we can expect this latest model sooner rather than later.
