Changan Philippines has been relatively quiet recently, their last most notable launch was the CS35 Plus early in the year. Just when we thought that would be all, the brand has other ideas it seems.
Changan CS55 Plus teased
A few hours ago, on the official Facebook page of Changan Philippines, they posted a teaser photo of a parking space marked “55” with the caption “Special Reservation”. At the far end of the photo is an obscured view of the rims of what is most likely the CS55 Plus.
Obviously, there are no details yet as to what specific specifications the local CS55 Plus will have but we can take a look at other markets to get an idea.
In terms of dimensions the CS55 Plus measures at L. 4515mm | W. 1865mm | H. 1600mm | WB. 2656mm. In the pecking order, the CS55 Plus slots between the CS75 Plus and CS35 Plus. Looking at the design the CS55 Plus has the modified look of the CS35 Plus which is a good thing, but the rear carries a big difference. Instead of the CS35 Plus light bar, the CS55 Plus has separate LED taillights.
Inside, the interior is as expected quite modern and stylish, first and foremost is the square-shaped steering wheel that is reminiscent of Peugeot’s design. It also has full digital instrumentation and a large tablet-style infotainment screen.
The engine will most likely be a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that puts out 185 Ps and 300 Nm of torque, which is then paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission, most likely a dual-clutch.
Pricing wise we’ll have to wait and see until the official launch of the CS55 Plus, although I bet we won’t have to wait too long.
