Denza, BYD’s premium new energy vehicle brand, has launched the 2026 Denza D9 DM-i in the Philippines, and it is also the first model for sale in the country. The plug-in hybrid seven-seater minivan enters the market as a rival to the Toyota Alphard and Lexus LM.

The D9 DM-i features a large front grille with silver trim, giving it a look similar to the Alphard. The grille is surrounded by chrome or silver accents, paired with an angular front bumper and “Meteor Inspired” LED headlights.

On the side, the D9 has defined character lines running from front to rear. It comes with power-folding side mirrors, privacy glass, 18-inch wheels, prominent wheel arches, and disc brakes on all four wheels.

The minivan measures 5,250 mm long, 1,960 mm wide, and 1,920 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,110 mm. Compared to the Alphard, the D9 is 240 mm longer, 110 mm wider, and 10 mm taller, making it the larger vehicle overall.

At the rear, the D9 features full-width wraparound “Star-Feather” LED taillights. It also gets a roof-mounted spoiler, shark fin antenna, and a power tailgate with position memory.
Inside, the D9 features a modern digital cockpit with real-wood trim. It comes with black and brown Nappa leather seats. A 15.6-inch infotainment screen sits at the center of the dashboard and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The driver also gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster.

The D9 is equipped with a heated and cooled storage box that can function as a freezer. Other features include a 14-speaker Dynaudio sound system, tri-zone climate control, a sunroof, 128-color ambient lighting, six USB ports, and wireless smartphone charging. There is one wireless charger in the front row and two in the second row.

The second-row captain’s seats offer massage and ventilation functions, along with tablet-style controls integrated into the armrests.
The D9 comes with DiPilot, Denza’s advanced driver assistance system. Features include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, rear collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot detection, and emergency lane-keeping assist.

The D9 DM-i uses a 1.5-liter gasoline engine paired with two electric motors and a 40 kWh battery. It produces a combined 401 horsepower and 681 Nm of torque and uses an all-wheel drive setup.

Denza claims a combined maximum range of 980 kilometers and a pure electric range of up to 180 kilometers.

The 2026 Denza D9 DM-i is priced to sell at P4,298,000 and is now available in the Philippines. The first 300 buyers will receive a P300,000 discount, bringing the introductory price down to P3,998,000.
