Ford updates Everest and Ranger for 2026, discontinues 2.0 Bi-turbo

When it comes to popularity, it’s hard to beat the Ford Everest and Ranger; these 2 models single-handedly keep the brand afloat in most of the regions and countries they’re sold in. Because of this, it would be important to make sure that both vehicles are up to date in all aspects, to be able to ward off any threat from the competition.

For 2026, it seems both will be getting minor tweaks in looks, but major ones under the hood.

2026 updates for Ford Ranger and Everest

Let’s first tackle the looks, and to be honest, if you don’t look closely, you’ll miss the changes. For 2026, the front grilles have been updated, new color and rim designs have been introduced, and the silver trim pieces have been replaced with black tones.

The major changes come in the form of the powertrain, according to a report by Drive, Ford is axing the popular 2.0-liter Bi-turbo motor usually found in the top-end Wildtrak models (in the Philippines). This move was done in preparation for slimming down the line-up of both models. In place of the Bi-turbo, a 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel (found in the Ranger Raptor) will come in, as well as a reworked and upgraded 2.0-liter single turbo.

The 2.0-liter turbo diesel has been reworked for better reliability, but retains the same power output as the current engine. Part of the powertrain upgrades is that all variants will reportedly get the 10-speed automatic transmission, even the 2.0-liter models, which previously used the 6-speed.

In the meantime, these changes will probably first roll out in the bigger markets like Australia, Thailand, and maybe Vietnam. However, with the Ranger and Everest being such strong local units, Ford Philippines probably won’t wait too long to update our local offerings, too.
