Fuel price increase again this week, gas up PHP 1.30, diesel by PHP 0.95 tomorrow, January 23

Here we go again, folks. Another week is upon us, and with it, another fuel price increase will be implemented. Tomorrow, January 23, both gasoline and diesel will go up by PHP 1.30 and PHP 0.95 per liter, respectively. As always, we can expect different times for different fuel players to update their prices, but as sad as it is, they will go up yet again.

Another fuel price hike is scheduled for tomorrow

The trend hasn’t been good if we are to be honest. Fuel prices have consistently gone up the past few weeks, and it won’t be any different come tomorrow. Per liter, gasoline will be more expensive per liter by PHP 1.30, with diesel prices going up as well by PHP 0.95. From midnight to later in the afternoon, we can expect all stations to reflect the price additions before the day ends, regardless.

Caltex is usually the first to increase; they do so at the stroke of midnight. The majority, though, including Unioil, Seaoil, Petro Gazz, Petron, and Shell will update their pumps later in the morning, specifically at 6:00 AM. Come 4:01 PM, Cleanfuel will be the last to increase prices.

Fuel price trends are pretty consistent, and with the current state of pricing, we might as well expect another price hike next week. Whether it will be big or small, neither is ideal. But following many factors that govern petroleum product prices around the world, it’s always best to be ready, and to make the most out of every time we top up our tanks.

That said, here are some ways we believe can help you improve your fuel consumption. With something as figuratively and literally volatile as fuel, being frugal and planning our travels and routes are pretty good things to practice.

We can always hope for a rollback next week, but for now, let’s all try to conserve as much gas and diesel as we all can.
