Grab has launched two more features in its ride-hailing application called GrabPet and GrabFamily which brings more transportation options for its users.
As per LTFRB’s Memorandum Circular 2019-019 which allows pets to be transported via Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs), certain pets will be allowed inside a Grab ride with you. This is a special feature for 6-seater cars where they can get more earnings upon accepting the GrabPet bookings.
Initially, only dogs, cats, turtles, hamsters, rabbits, and fish are allowed for transportation. It is also a requirement that your pets should not have any parasites and/or fleas. Here are the types of pet and the method on how they can transport it:
Pieces of equipment will also be given to the drivers to help take care of the pets while traveling.
- Pet Kennel big enough for one(1) large breed dog, two(2) medium breed dogs OR two(2) cats
- Waterproof Cargo liner for the rear area
- Pet Barrier
Grab doesn’t stop there as they also rolled out the GrabFamily feature where child passengers will have more comfortable travel in accordance with the Republic Act No. 1129 (Child Safety in Motor Vehicle Act).
Passengers with children below 12 years of age who will avail the 6-seater special booking feature will be guaranteed the vehicle will have the following pieces of equipment:
- Child Seat
- Baby Wipes
- Alcohol
- Emesis Bag
- Tissue Box
