The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) along with the Department of Transportation (DOTr), launched today the return of the “Libreng Sakay” program for the EDSA Busway.
The return of the program was announced after the approval of the Service Contracting Program Phase III. This program is under the General Appropriations Act 2022 and has been given a budget of PHP7 Billion.
According to the Facebook post of the LTFRB, 515 out of the 532 registered public utility buses operating on the EDSA Busway will be able to provide free rides to commuters. The post further added that additional routes for the “Librang Sakay” program are scheduled to open in the coming days.
Operating hours for the EDSA Busway Carousel will start at 4:00 am and end at 11:00 pm.
