Makati CBD major road closures from May 6-8, 2022

A lot of major thoroughfares have seen their fair share of road closures in the past month. With the national elections coming up, we can expect rallies to push this into overdrive. This weekend, starting today, Makati CBD will be the next to seal its roads.

Makati CBD road closure, Miting de Avance

The closing of roads will be to make way for the Miting de Avance of one presidential candidate in the coming elections. The event itself is scheduled to take place on May 7, but preparations are being made early. From 9:00 PM of May 6 until 6:00 AM of May 8, partial closures of the following arteries will be implemented:

  • Ayala Avenue (from Fonda St. to Gil Puyat Ave.)
  • Paseo de Roxas St. (from Dela Rosa St. to Makati Ave.)
  • Makati Ave. (from Dela Rosa St. to Paseo de Roxas)
  • V.A. Rufino St. (from Dela Rosa St. to Valero St.)
  • Salcedo St. (from Dela Rosa St. to Valero St.)

It’s a good thing that this road closure in the Makati CBD is happening on a weekend. We can only imagine if this 3-day closure was held in the workweek. Good on you, organizers, and Makati local government!

That said, plan your travels well, ladies and gentlemen. It’s said that this is going to be big, and it probably will be.
