Nissan has always been serious with electrification, and the Ariya e-4ORCE gave us a glimpse of the brand’s future with its public display at this year’s MIAS. As what the brand calls the “perfect embodiment of Nissan Intelligent Mobility”, there was no better model to likewise encapsulate the Manila International Auto Show’s theme “Bridging the Future”.
Ariya e-4ORCE joins Nissan lineup in ushering in an electrified future
Following in the footsteps of the LEAF, the Ariya is the next chapter of Nissan’s electrified future. As it stands, it has all the best of what Nissan has to offer in terms of innovative technology and because it was built on a dedicated EV platform, the designers were able to take a new approach to design, setting aside the limitations of an internal combustion engine platform.
That said, the Ariya’s cabin is now the most spacious in its class. Both luxurious and with a lounge-like appeal, and with the addition of Nissan’s Zero Gravity seats and a flat, open floor, there is space aplenty for everything – and everyone – that makes their way in. The dashboard takes a very minimalistic design and features Nissan’s Integrated Display Interface. The dual 12.3-inch displays clearly display driving information and control vehicle functions, while primary climate functions are integrated into the wooden center dash that spans the width of the interior.
Powering the Ariya e-4ORCE are two electric motors that drive an AWD drivetrain. This all-electric setup makes about 395 HP and 600 Nm of torque. The battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in only 30 minutes and the 87 kWh unit can cover a range of 500 kilometers. Other tech amenities and amenities include Nissan Safety Shield and ProPILOT 2.0.
“The Ariya previews the exciting technologies we can expect to see from Nissan’s vehicles in the near future. It is a perfect embodiment of Nissan’s concept for the future of electrified mobility, translated into reality,” said Matteo Guideicelli, representing Nissan Philippines.
If anything, the future looks bright and a whole lot more sustainable. And more intelligent.
