MMDA: Stop-and-Go traffic scheme tomorrow, Roxas and Diokno Blvd

Expect more traffic on Manila’s main thoroughfare tomorrow. The MMDA has announced that from 8:00 AM – 10:00 PM tomorrow, April 20, a stop-and-go traffic scheme will be implemented. The affected arteries will be Roxas Boulevard and Diokno Boulevard.

This temporary scheme that will last effectively the whole day is to make way for the 2022 World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit. The event that is held yearly brings industry leaders together with government representatives to continue “aligning efforts to support the sector’s recovery and move to a safer, more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future.”

Traffic seems to have returned to pre-pandemic levels across the Metro, and tomorrow’s planned scheme in Manila will definitely not help the daily jam situation. We ask that you plan your routes accordingly to avoid gridlock. Or if you can, stay at home instead.
