Luxury SUV fans rejoice! In a few weeks, the all-new Nissan Patrol will finally break cover and have its official unveiling in the Philippines, about five months since it started its regional debuts around the world. No specific details of the 7th generation Y63 were given by Nissan Philippines in its announcement of the reveal date, but with the bevy of information on the web, there are some things we can safely surmise will make it to our local offering.
7th generation Nissan Patrol will be revealed in the PH before this month’s end

As you can see, the all-new Nissan Patrol – chassis code Y63 – will be unveiled on the 28th of March, just shy of four weeks from now. It has been a decade and a half since the Patrol got a major change to become what was the outgoing model. This all-new model is leaps and bounds beyond that, and even if we don’t have too many details (since Nissan is keeping mum until the launch, as is proper) here’s what we can probably assume that our PH-spec Patrol could have.

If we’re to be specific, the only thing we can be almost (if not absolutely) certain of will be the fact that this new Nissan Patrol will no longer have a V8 under the hood. In its place will either be a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated V6 motor that puts out about 318 HP and gives a healthy 386 Nm of pull, or a smaller displacement but more powerful 3.5-liter V6 twin-turbocharged mill that is good for 425 HP and a whopping 700 Nm of torque.

Pricing is something we can only surmise based on its main competitor, the Toyota Land Cruiser. Regardless of the variant, and if we are correct in the assumption that the PH-spec Nissan Patrol will literally go head-to-head with Toyota’s models, then that means pricing will be anywhere between the PHP 5,200,000USD 89,804INR 7,830,680EUR 85,436CNY 651,560 to PHP 5,800,000USD 100,166INR 8,734,220EUR 95,294CNY 726,740 mark. That’s a lot of commas and zeroes, but did we really expect anything less for it?
Reservations for the all-new Nissan Patrol are ongoing as we speak. Many are surely excited about the reveal and local debut of Nissan’s ultimate SUV fighter, and with the LC getting some competition, it’ll be almost as exciting to see how Toyota will respond. If they will at all, for that matter.
Let the SUV wars commence! … Well, before the end of the month, that is.
